Instagram just dropped Instants, a new feature (and standalone app) built for sharing everyday photos right as they happen, with zero editing required. It's Instagram leaning hard into its "raw content" era, basically giving users a dedicated space to just post and move on without the usual polish and pressure.

TikTok is testing a feature similar to Instagram's Trial Reels called "Don't Show on TikTok Profile" on iOS, letting creators post content that reaches non-followers without showing up on their main profile grid.

Instagram rolled out a major algorithm update that stops recommending content from aggregator accounts, pages that grow by reposting other creators' work, across Explore, Reels, and Suggested Posts.

Original creators get boosted reach as a result, while repost-heavy accounts get buried, with Instagram recommending creators use built-in tools like Collabs or Remix if they want to share someone else's content
