It matters because the beta tab lets creators turn upcoming features on or off and send feedback before Meta rolls them out more broadly, so editors get early access to workflow upgrades that could cut down reliance on outside apps like CapCut, and a direct line to shape the tools before they ship.

YouTube launched a Practice Mode that lets creators test how their vertical livestream will look before they go live, opening a private session where creators can work through livestream features like live chat, polls, stickers and green screens without an audience watching.

It matters because vertical livestreams surface inside the Shorts feed where most viewers stumble in mid-scroll, so it's one of the fastest ways to reach new audiences, and now creators can learn the controls in a zero-pressure environment instead of fumbling through them in front of a live chat.

Nikita Bier has stepped down as head of product at X after a little more than a year in the role, writing that it's "time to pass the torch and demote myself to my natural state: a poster," though he'll stay on as an advisor.
