🇺🇸 A USA only TikTok App?
In the ongoing saga over TikTok’s U.S. operations, reports indicate TikTok is developing a separate U.S.-only version of the app (internally code-named “M2”)
This new app is slated to launch by early September 2025, as TikTok works toward compliance with proposed U.S. laws (like the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Apps Act) that would require domestic ownership and control.

📊 “Trending” Tab Replaced by Charts
YouTube is overhauling its discovery section by removing the longstanding “Trending” page from the app and website. In its place, YouTube now features a series of category-specific trending charts on the YouTube Charts portal – e.g. Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcasts, Trending Movie Trailers, and more to come.
This change reflects how viewer behavior has evolved: a single list of viral videos no longer captures what’s trending, since there are many parallel micro-trends in different communities.

🛜 Google Indexes Reels
Instagram confirmed it’s enabling Google search indexing for all new public posts in more regions. Practically, this means your public photos and Reels can appear in Google search results, potentially boosting your content’s discoverability beyond the app.
