🤩 “Your Algorithm”, YouTube’s A/B Testing, and the top trends of the week…

YouTube just launched A/B testing for creators…Yes, you should be excited!! Here’s what else you missed:

👋 Weekly Tips & Tricks

🤩 Instagram’s “Your Algorithm”

Instagram introduced a new tool called “Your Algorithm” that gives users insight and control over the Reels algorithm. Tapping a heart-and-lines icon on Reels now shows you a summary of topics Instagram believes you’re into (e.g. “creativity, sports hype, fitness motivation…”).

Users can then mark topics to see more or less of them, and even add interests not already listed. The feed will adjust accordingly in real time.

👀 YouTube A/B Testing for Creators

YouTube rolled out the ability for creators with Advanced Features to A/B test up to three different titles and thumbnails (or combinations) on long-form videos.

The system automatically serves each variant to viewers over ~2 weeks and picks the version with the highest watch time – focusing on watch time instead of just clicks, so titles/thumbnails that better match content are rewarded.

🤝 TikTok’s Shared Collections

TikTok rolled out two new DM-based features for the holidays – Shared Collections and Shared Feed. Shared Collections let two users jointly save and organize videos into a common folder (both must follow each other to start one) – great for curating ideas or inspirations together. These collections can be kept private or even made public to the TikTok community,
